Statesmen of this proud continent! Make haste to help the needy.
And improve our land and world.
Politicians in the parliaments! Prepare us laws to save the waste of life.
And improve our land and world.
Writers and journalists! Set forth the truth in love.
And improve our land and world.
The landowners, the shareholders, the businessmen and managers! Use your privileges for us all.
And improve our land and world.
The religious and the churchpeople! Desist from wars of words and work for reconciliation.
And improve our land and world.
(After Youlden, H. (1914), Manual of Ethical Devotion, 25-6).
It is in the will of God that we should endeavour to keep our bodies in health and strength, and our appetites and impulses under control, and everywhere and in all things to be temperate, clean and pure.
Incline our hearts to do thy will.
It is in the will of God that we should train our minds to be true in thinking, just in all our judging, considerate in all our speaking.
Incline our hearts to do thy will.
It is in the will of God that we should be honest, truthful, and upright in thought, word and deed; that we should be diligent and faithful in our several callings, doing our daily work in all simplicity and integrity, seeking and labouring for those things which are honourable and just and lovely and of good report.
Incline our hearts to do thy will.
It is in the will of God that we should rule our spirits, bear each other's infirmities, and live in charity towards all people; that we should endeavour to be of service to others, not absorbed in our own interests and pleasures; that we should seek in all things to overcome evil with good and do our part to redeem the world from sin and pain and sorrow.
Incline our hearts to do thy will.
