Be not afraid of making friends,
For with a friend you need not strive to score a point.
Or be afraid of losing face;
Two friends may nurture well each other's strength
And find a power that so far exceeds
The double portion then combined.
Make all the friends you can
For there's no mine of gold that can out-value them upon this earth;
Those friends - the real ones only number three or two, or even one -
Do treasure safely in the strong room of your soul,
Lest you be robbed
Of what you value most, and left half-dead, 'till someone will decide
Again to cross the busy road of life to give, and take a hand.
Be not afraid to make a friend.
